The event started as a casual get-together among friends and their acquaintances. François Pasquier, the founder, continues to organize it in France even after 30 years. When he returned to France, he wanted to reconnect with friends, but his backyard was too small. So, he decided to host it at the local park and encouraged his friends to bring along someone new, allowing him to meet more people.
 

According to Nikki Griffin, co-host of Diner en Blanc Atlanta, the event is expected to attract 4,000 attendees. She emphasizes the importance of preserving the event’s origins and traditions, which involve dining al fresco in fashionable attire.
